What are Organizations?
Organizations are non-profit organizations, employers, hospitals, insurers, and employee assistance programs that sponsor group meetings on HeyPeers to provide their members, employees, and communities to have low-cost and easy-to-access virtual emotional and social support.
Why should I join an Organization Led meeting?
Organizations often foster groups around a specific topic or population, and can connect you with a supportive community. Subscribe to an organization of interest to you to see their schedule of meetings and learn more about their services.
What is a "Subscription" to an Organization?
Subscribing to an organization brings you into a community of individuals who have had similar experiences, allows you to attend their meetings on HeyPeers, and to optionally learn about additional resources they provide.
Support Group Meetings
Group meetings come in all sizes and offer a wide range of lived experiences. The benefit of group meetings is to learn and engage with a team that share common bonds with you. All meetings are facilitated by a trained and Certified Peer Support Specialist. Group meetings can be hosted by an individual or on behalf of the numerous organizations on HeyPeers. Our community of professional Peer Supporters and Organizations come with a lot of unique lived experiences and opportunities to provide support.

Organization Led Support Group Meetings
With an Organization Led Support Group meeting, the organization can offer meetings in a series that are offered monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly. Meetings can also be created as specialized groups, like a book club, that will only last for a certain amount of weeks.
Organizations host their online video-based support group meetings on HeyPeers in order to easily reach the people they serve, many of whom may not be able to attend an in-person meeting, making support more accessible. Some organizations have restrictions on who can attend their meetings based on topic or residence. For example, some organizations have funding to specifically provide for members in a particular county or state.
Many organizations that host on HeyPeers have their own meeting models, meeting guidelines, determine what meetings topics they will offer, and schedule their own Peer Supporters as facilitators for their meetings.
