HeyPeers offers Peer Supporters the option to create chat rooms. If you have the Standard Peer Supporter Plan, you are able to create Private 1:1 Chat Rooms and Private Group Chat Rooms. If you have the Premium Peer Supporter Plan, you are able to create Private 1:1 Chat Rooms Private Group Chat Rooms, and Public Group Chat Rooms.
To create a Private 1:1 Chat Room go to the Chat page in HeyPeers. You will see a grey panel on the left side of your page. Click on the CHATS icon, it will be highlighted blue when selected. Click on the + Chat button. A Start New Chat popup window will appear. You will see a list of the HeyPeers users you have a connection with. Select one of them. You will be brought into a chat room. There you can begin your text-based conversation with the HeyPeers user.
To create a Private Group Chat Room go to the Chat page in HeyPeers. You will see a grey panel on the left side of your page. Click on the GROUPS icon, it will be highlighted blue when selected. Click on the + Groups Chat button. A Start Group Chat popup window will appear. Fill in the chat room name in the "Name for group chat" text section. Fill in the chat room description in the "Description for group chat" text box. You will see a list of the HeyPeers users you have a connection with. Select HeyPeers users to join the private group chat room. Click the CREATE GROUP CHAT button. You will be brought into a chat room. There you can begin your text-based conversation with the HeyPeers users.
To create a Public Group Chat Room go to the Chat page in HeyPeers. You will see a grey panel on the left side of your page. Click on the GROUPS icon, it will be highlighted blue when selected. Click on the + Groups Chat button. A Start Group Chat popup window will appear. Fill in the chat room name in the "Name for group chat" text section. Fill in the chat room description in the "Description for group chat" text box. You will see a list of the HeyPeers users you have a connection with. Select HeyPeers users to join the private group chat room. Be sure to click on the box next to "Make this chat public" when creating the chat room. Click the CREATE GROUP CHAT button. You will be brought into a chat room. There you can begin your text-based conversation with the HeyPeers users.
