Peer Support Requests are an important tool created by HeyPeers to help our Peer Supporters and members connect more easily. Members will be able to share what kind of one-on-one support they are seeking. The Peer Support Request form they submit will include a subject, description of the kind of peer support needed, the time they would like to meet, and what "lived experience" and "gender preference" they are looking for in a Peer Supporter.
This request will be available for Peer Supporters to review and submit a proposal, detailing how and why they would be a good fit. The member can review these proposals and then choose to accept one. Once a proposal has been accepted, the Peer Supporter will be able to communicate and schedule a one-on-one session. Please see the detailed guide below.
1. Review and respond with a proposal for the Peer Support Request.
You can access the Peer Support Requests page from the More menu option.
The Peer Support Requests page is displayed. This page will list a summary of all open requests. It also shows how many responses (proposals) have been submitted by Peer Supporters.
To respond to a request, select submit a Peer Support Proposal. This will open a pop up window that will allow you to craft your proposal
Click Submit, and the Peer Supporter Request Page will be updated with your proposal.
The proposal can be edited and withdrawn prior to being accepted.
2. Schedule a meeting.
Once your proposal has been accepted, you will receive a notification.
The Messages section of the Peer Support Proposal allows you to communicate with the member. Once a date and time is agreed upon, you can schedule the meeting. This is initiated by clicking on the Schedule Meeting button.
This will open a form that helps create a meeting. Information will be populated from the details of the proposal but can be edited here. Input the date and time of the meeting. Click on Submit to save the meeting details.
Important Note: The meeting created here will only be accessible by the member who submitted the request. No other member will see or be able to register for it.
Once the member has paid for the meeting it is finalized and you are all set.
