Peer Supporters on HeyPeers have the opportunity to create and manage their own chat rooms.
It is the responsibility of the Peer Supporter to monitor any chat room they create regularly. Peer Supporters who create a chat room will become the Moderator of the room. If that chat room is set as "public" they are required to actively post comments at least once every 24 hours—failure to do so will result in a warning notice being sent, and if action is not taken, that chat room will be closed.
Peer Supporters who moderate a chat room must be advised of the Chat Room Behavior Expectations and continually monitor that participants are following them. If someone in the chat room is violating terms and conditions and the behavior expectations, please submit a violation report and include as much detail as possible. Moderators can decide to delete any inappropriate comments, but if they do, we ask that they please screenshot the violating comment first for future reference. Chat rooms that are not actively monitored for violating behaviors by the moderator are subject to being closed after 30 days. To learn more about submitting a violation report, see Reporting User Behavior in a Chat Room.
